OK... so I haven't been shooting every day but I think this picture makes up for some lost time. Baci and Petey at play at the dog park earlier this week.
Love this plant now in bloom -- the blossoms are the size of dinner plates and covered in delicate hairs. This plant came via clipping from Naomi "the orchid princess" Honig by way of Carlos Alves.
I found this interesting vanda to give to Mom for mother's day -- I got it at the house at Tigertail and Natoma that sells orchids on the weekends. It has the most beautiful fragrance.
I spent much of the day dying silk. I think I needed to do something where I could see an immediate product. I really enjoy the process -- pleating the silk and dying it multiple times.
I'm spending this week at New World School of the Arts photographing and interviewing the school's faculty for a publication. Here's a fun shot I got of dance instructor Rebecca Cannan in the midst of her dancers.
OK... I know this doesn't count but I couldn't resist. I just found this black and white of me in my Buster Brown sailor suit behind the lens, c. 1965 .
Here is Peter, our very own Dog Whisperer, facilitating doggy teather ball. Note that Baci is the only dog with four paws planted firmly on the ground!
Last night I had to (try) to take some photographs of Miami's Performing Arts Center (now Arsht, formerly Carnival) for a New World School of the Arts publication. This, an outtake, I quite like -- taken zooming by on the freeway (watching driving, not what I was shooting...)
Gianfranco and I took Baci to Hobie Beach today -- she LOVED it, of course! She found some friends and swam after the tennis ball until she was tired. Now she's taking an afternoon power nap!
It is warming up here in Miami and the subtropical flowers are starting to come alive... Love these -- Hoya carnosa -- blooming in pink clusters and wrapping themselves around the bougainvillea. I only have to look out my window.
