Love this plant now in bloom -- the blossoms are the size of dinner plates and covered in delicate hairs.  This plant came via clipping from Naomi "the orchid princess" Honig by way of Carlos Alves. 

Vanda for Mom

I found this interesting vanda to give to Mom for mother's day -- I got it at the house at Tigertail and Natoma that sells orchids on the weekends.  It has the most beautiful fragrance.

Garland Designs Mother's Day Plate

Yesterday my eight-year-old neighbor Garland came over and she designed this plate to give to her mother for mother's day... LOVE IT! 

What I did Today...

I spent much of the day dying silk. I think I needed to do something where I could see an immediate product.  I really enjoy the process -- pleating the silk and dying it multiple times.
